For articles, start with a text serif rather than a high-contrast display face. At your actual body size, inspect thin strokes, punctuation and italic emphasis on a phone.

Try a serif for paragraphs and a restrained sans serif for navigation. Start around 18 px with 1.5 line spacing, then adjust to the font and column width; these are starting points, not accessibility guarantees.

Playfair Display

Our suggestion: try it for editorial headlines, publication covers and short brand statements. Keep the message brief enough for the letterforms to carry the visual identity. For dense instructions or long articles, start with a separate body face.

Check fine strokes at the actual display size and contrast, especially over photography. Avoid treating Playfair Display and Playfair as interchangeable downloads: their design ranges differ. Verify the family name in the file you install.
